For as long as she can remember, Evie's goal has been to win the annual Autumnal Bay Bake-Off—an obsession only second to finding love. After years of effort, both dreams seem within reach, but beneath the façade of happy neighbors and streets lined with perfect jack-o-lanterns, something is rotten in Autumnal Bay. Unbeknownst to Evie, she is a witch, and only she can save the town from a devastating curse.
Gideon, a dark warlock seeking revenge, manipulates everything in the town—from relationships to memories—and had been successful in controlling them, until recently. He’s compelled Milo to do his bidding, but little does he know, his underling has an agenda of his own.
Milo is determined to right his past wrongs. But, unable to communicate directly, Milo uses his limited magic to reach Evie through her dreams, hoping to help her remember her true self and restore her magic.
Evie begins to experience unusual headaches and magical anomalies, making her question her reality and obsess over the mysterious warlock who continues to appear in her dreams.
As Evie's focus on the Bake-Off wanes and her intuition continually tells her that something is deeply wrong in Autumnal Bay, Gideon nears the completion of his plan. Can Milo help Evie see the truth in time, or will Autumnal Bay crumble like the crust of a good pie?
This book was giving the best of fall vibes with a Halloween Town x Great British Baking Show theme but add some SPICE 🌶️
Autumnal Bay was the perfect fall town and all the residents were happy … or so it seems. Turns out the entire town is under a curse and one woman starts to regain her memories while struggling with her love for two men.
I absolutely ADORED this town. I could picture it perfectly. The magic and the curse were interesting and Evie’s feelings for Oliver and Milo will keep you reading.
Then the PLOT TWIST actually had me gasping out loud while I tried to wrap my head around it. I truly didn’t see that part coming.
I highly recommend this for a fall-themed witchy romantasy read. I hope we get to see more from this town and I can’t wait to check out the novellas that are associated with it.
